Score for transparency

Author: Maureen Bader 2010/03/22

On March 19, 2010, the BC Director of the CTF praised the City of Vancouver's municipal politician's effort at transparency when they made available their salaries and expenses. The BC director said they could go farther, and make available the actual expense invoices, just like municipal councillors at the City of Toronto do.

On March 22, 2010, the Mayor of Vancouver said he would introduce a motion to have council members' expenses posted online, just like they do in the City of Toronto.

The CTF's voice is heard at all levels of government. We're also saying that the politicians at the City of Vancouver must not copy the level of politician's expenses at the City of Toronto. Those, for sure, seem to be over-the-top.
